In Love...

I feel really bad about not being around lately... the new job has wiped me out both physically and mentally. I am hoping to finally get into the blogging groove next week, but until then I will share my newest love with you...

I was bored the other night and decided to browse Craigslist for 'mid century modern' pieces. You can always find some great beauties at reasonable prices there. Well....I came across this little credenza and immediately decided I needed it. The geometric design is RIGHT up my alley, and we also have the perfect spot for it....a great entry console. My first thought was to paint it, inspired by some favorite blogs I Suwannee and Life in the Fun Lane, but now I am indecisive... maybe the original finish is in great condition (it's from the 1950's). Of course my husband said "No" to purchasing this item because all EXTRA funds are going to a new sofa. :(

I check every few days to make sure no else has bought it, but what are your thoughts? Some new handles, maybe some paint.....she would be such a looker!

What is it with husbands and the word "no"??? Just highlight the practicalities to him like all that extra storage ;o) I have my heart set on a sofa at the mo but I'm not "allowed" to bid on it (off ebay and time is running out) until I sell the old one :o(
I reckon a lighter paint colour would highlight the nice woodwork on the front of that cabinet.

Saw this one on craigslist and was tempted too...definitely paint it! It would look great white, black, gray or even with a pop of green and some brushed nickel!

I agree, I think painting it would give it a chic look for your entryway. I say go for it!

I like this piece. It looks somewhat asain inspired and it is very clean looking, not too much detail.
I vote for black or a black base with red and then sand off the red.

As for husbands, my personal philosophy is, just do it anyway. They will survive and so will your marriage!
