That's exactly what my hair dresser said (always a good person to bounce ideas of off) when I told her I was doing this...
You guessed it... painting all of my doors a high-gloss black. Currently they look like this (sorry this is a really old photo... need to update my library) 
So after some flat trim, black paint, and new hardware I will have some 'dramatic doors'. Sample door one is in the works, so I will update you soon!
