Door Number One...

Good morning and welcome back from the holiday break! I hope you all enjoyed time with the family, fabulous food, and survived the trip to the mall the day after! I ventured to Cherry Creek around noon with my mom and Aunt, and was very disappointed. Most stores, if not all, looked like they had been chewed up and spit back out. Piles and piles of clothes thrown everywhere.

As I have promised, the first picture of our black doors, well one at least. Ta Da!

We are working away on door number two, but trying to decide how we should add trim for dimension (since this door is only 18" wide we decided to opt out on the trim.)

It took a few test runs to figure out the best way to paint the door since it's a high gloss. We tried a hand sprayer (it was too hard since we could only do one door at once), brush on (but we didn't like the brush strokes), roll on with a small foam roller going vertical and oddly enough it worked best rolling horizontal (against the grain).

Have you received your new Elle Decor? There is a foyer shot that looks like they read my mind... once it comes in the mail I will scan the photo for everyone.
